Twelve Days of Giving: Mind

Mind is one of the charities nominated for donations in memory of Louise. Mind supports people with mental health problems and campaigns for better mental health services. Louise passed her driving test in her late thirties whilst nine months pregnant (perhaps the examiner was afraid that she would go into labour if she failed) and made good use of this skill: driving many, many miles to visit family members who were experiencing mental health problems.

Mind believes that nobody should have to face mental-ill health unsupported and that everyone is entitled to good quality care for mental ill-health. This is unarguable as, after all, mental ill-health can occur to anyone at anytime; one in four people experience mental health problems.

Mind also provides professional training on matters such as mental health first aid, and how to develop mentally healthy workplaces. In other words, Mind provides services that we all need.
